The Stellar [$XLM] blockchain network is powering the entry of financial services giant MoneyGram into the stablecoin-based debit card market. The network is powering their new virtual Visa card, the MoneyGram Card by Rain, a fintech platform.
It was reported that the product is tailored specifically for the Latin American market. The Stellar blockchain provides transaction speeds, and Crossmint takes care of wallet custody infrastructure.
Back in May, the DTCC announced that its tokenization service would make use of the Stellar network. It provided a major boost to investor sentiment. The service would be launched in October, it was reported, and tokenized DTC assets are expected to be available on the network in the first half of 2027.
$XLM crypto trends unchanged despite the news
The long-term $XLM crypto trend has shifted from bullish to bearish in early 2026, when the $0.225 former support zone was lost. In May earlier this year, following the DTCC partnership announcement, the altcoin went on a parabolic, short-term rally and nearly reached $0.30.
The bulls were unable to hold on to their gains. The token has since retraced most of the May move. The CMF has been below -0.05 on the weekly timeframe for most of the year, signaling persistent capital outflows in the long-term.
The Awesome Oscillator showed weakly bullish momentum. Overall, unless the $0.225 area is flipped to support, the $XLM crypto trend would struggle to make a meaningful recovery.
Traders’ call to action- Wait for a strong trend
On the 1-day timeframe, the swing structure was technically bullish following the May rally. However, buyers have tested and eventually relinquished key supply zones at $0.26 and $0.20.
The $0.170 area could be next. In the first half of August, $XLM crypto had already slipped below the $0.168 low. In the coming days, another such price dive is possible.
There is no strong trend behind Stellar right now despite the daily timeframe’s bullish structure. Swing traders can choose to wait for a new catalyst to drive token prices higher and buy strength, and investors need to do their own research and evaluate if $XLM crypto is still a buy-and-hold.
Final Summary
- The Stellar partnership announcements should give investors confidence that the altcoin can eventually make a recovery.
- At the time of writing, a strong trend was not underway. The $0.168 local support was under scrutiny once more.
