Bitcoin ($BTC) continues to climb, gaining another 1.2% on August 24 and trading at $77,770 after last week’s historic crypto rally, supported by sustained institutional demand, a favorable macro backdrop, and renewed capital flows.

Notably, August U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows of $1.92 billion, the highest since October 2025, have provided what market participants see as a stronger price floor than would be expected from a purely leverage-driven move.

At the same time, Bitcoin dominance has climbed back to nearly 60%, suggesting some capital is rotating from altcoins toward the flagship digital asset, which points to Bitcoin being the primary beneficiary of a broad crypto-market recovery.

With the cryptocurrency’s outlook once again turning bullish, we asked OpenAI’s most-advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm, ChatGPT, to predict the Bitcoin price on September 1, 2026.

ChatGPT was cautiously bullish in its prediction. The algorithm believes there’s a 40% chance the asset will land somewhere in the 75,000-82,000 range, with $80,000 being the most narrow prediction. This implies another 2.8% uptick over the next week, but the chatbot added that the period could be highly volatile, with ETF flows likely to be the key metric to watch.

A more bullish case, which would see the cryptocurrency trading somewhere between $82,000 and $90,000, was assigned a roughly 25% chance. According to the analysis, the bullish case depends heavily on ETF inflows continuing and Bitcoin holding above roughly $77,000. In the most bullish scenario, the price might climb above $90,000, but there’s only a 5% chance of that happening.

If institutional demand fades and the recent short squeeze unwinds, there’s a 20% probability the price might get caught in the $70,000-$75,000 zone, or drop further and erase the recent gains if macro conditions go south.

Looking ahead, ChatGPT argued the next major macro catalyst is the U.S. July Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation report due August 26, adding that short-term $BTC price predictions are likely to hinge on the data.
