Transactions by high-volume investors in the cryptocurrency and financial markets continue to attract attention. According to on-chain data and information from market monitoring platforms, three independent large investors have recently taken multi-million dollar positions in $ETH, $SOL, $HYPE, and CXMT.
The first whale made a significant profit by opening a large long position in Ethereum during the early stages of the current cryptocurrency rally.
The investor in question opened a long position of 20,000 $ETH when the $ETH price was around $1,936. The size of the position later grew to approximately $50 million, and the whale’s unrealized profit reportedly exceeded $11 million.
The investor, tracked by Lookonchain and associated with the address “0xedcd,” turned to Solana after their successful $ETH transaction.
The whale opened a new long position of 100,000 $SOL approximately half an hour ago using 20x leverage. The entry price was approximately $104.5, and the total position size was calculated at $10.45 million.
Thus, the whale, in addition to its approximately $50 million position in $ETH, opened a new trade on Solana based on a high-leverage bullish expectation.
The second largest whale attracted attention with its aggressive purchases of Hyperliquid’s native token, $HYPE. It is suggested that this whale or institution may be connected to a16z, but this claim has not yet been definitively confirmed.
The whale had previously purchased $24 million worth of $HYPE tokens in June when the price was approximately $68.7.
Over the past 24 hours, a total of 36 million USDC has been deposited into the Hyperliquid platform via 12 different addresses believed to be linked to the investor.
Approximately $24 million of these funds have been used so far to purchase $HYPE. A total of 282,090 $HYPE were purchased, with an average purchase price of approximately $81.5.
The total amount of $HYPE that whales or institutions have purchased and staked so far has reached 4.67 million tokens. The current value of these assets is approximately $381 million.
The average cost of the total position was calculated to be approximately $65.6, while the whale’s unrealized profit was reported to be approximately $74.4 million.
