$XRP has continued to witness strong network growth so far this month despite its persisting price volatility, drawing attention from the crypto community.

Per the latest data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant, $XRP's network activity has recorded a sharp increase in August, signaling heightened participation among traders this month.

$XRP active addresses soar

The data shows that the number of active addresses on the $XRP network has surged by over 84% since the start of the month despite its recent price weakness.

Notably, $XRP recorded a total of 23,642 active addresses on August 1. Following the surge in its network activity, the figure has since jumped to 43,543 as of August 11.

Apparently, this marks a notable increase of about 84.18% in active addresses on the $XRP ledger in just over a week, signaling a surge in its adoption.

The increase in the metric suggests that more addresses are actively interacting with the $XRP network. This means that $XRP is seeing increased on-chain participation even as it struggles to maintain its price momentum.

$XRP is down this month

Amid the divergence between $XRP network activity and its price movement, the asset has also recorded a negative return so far this month.

Data from CryptoRank shows that $XRP has achieved a negative return of -3.58% so far in August, drawing attention from market analysts.

While the divergence has made $XRP one of the most watched crypto assets recently, it is important to note that an increase in active addresses does not necessarily guarantee a price recovery.

Meanwhile, sustained growth in network activity could reflect rising interest in the leading altcoin, which could potentially drive demand.
