Uniswap became the main venue for decentralized RWA trading. The exchange emerged as the main venue for RWA swaps at the end of August and retained its influence in September.

Uniswap carries more than 50% of DEX-based trading for real-world assets (RWAs). As Cryptopolitan reported, RWAs are expanding their representation on decentralized markets, with both spot trading and perpetual futures shifting to permissionless decentralized markets.

While HIP-3 is the main venue for perpetual futures based on RWA, Uniswap has taken over spot volumes, starting in August. Recently, the DEX announced its trading reached 60% of DEX-based RWAs volume.

During peak trading, Uniswap handled over $743M in RWA volumes as of September 4. Later, the volumes moved down to around $300M daily.

Uniswap goes beyond a simple DEX, instead building an open financial system. Uniswap V4 and third-party deployments allow for the creation of specialized markets. Unichain is also increasing its influence as a trading venue.

RWA trading also accelerated following the launch of a new wave of reflection tokens, often linked to tokenized stocks. This trend boosted the volumes for existing tokenization platforms. Uniswap benefitted from its connections to Robinhood Chain, as well as the exchange’s presence as part of the Robinhood ecosystem.

Uniswap also taps volumes on Solana, Ethereum, Base, and other major networks, becoming a staple in decentralized RWA activity. The DEX may be positioned to take the shift of RWA trading from Binance to other markets.

Uniswap introduces rTokens by RealityFi

To date, Uniswap has offered tokenized stocks by Ondo Finance and XStocks. The exchange recently added rStocks by RealityFi, a new format of tokenized assets.

RealityFi has already spread its tokenized assets to the Arbitrum chain, the Morph Network ecosystem, and Bitget Wallet. The Bitget wallet is a gateway to retail adoption, which may also boost the usage of Uniswap.

The Uniswap integration of rStocks brings over 1,700 new assets, covering 95% of the major US equities, which are among the most in-demand assets for trading, perpetual swaps, and reflection meme tokens.

The tokenized rStocks are backed by FINRA-registered custodians and are launched under the jurisdiction of El Salvador. The stocks are not directly available for trading by US persons but can still be accessed through the permissionless DEX.

$UNI rises on new wave of RWA trading

The native token of Uniswap, $UNI, recently rallied, reflecting the boost of RWA trading. $UNI rallied from the $3.24 range a month ago up to $6.28 as of September 16.

The token also reached a local peak of $7.29 as of September 7, for a net growth of 10.9% in 2026. The only warning for $UNI is that around 1,400 wallets hold most of the supply, breaking down the narrative of widespread retail adoption. The recovery based on trading activity and fees may be vulnerable to whale selling pressures.

Uniswap is one of the biggest comebacks in the crypto space, following years of underperformance and sluggish trading. The financial infrastructure compensated for the loss of token trading, switching to new networks and narratives.

As of September 16, the Uniswap V3 version on Robinhood Chain carried over $743M in trading volumes, with around $640M for Ethereum V3. Robinhood V4 grew to $278M. Daily Uniswap volumes started expanding in the past 30 days, getting close to their highest level for the year to date, based on DeFi Llama data.

Uniswap already holds $3.59B in value locked while producing $14.9M in monthly revenues and generating over $182M in fees.
