Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said that Bitcoin may have passed its bottom in the current market cycle and that he expects it to re-enter an upward trend within the next one to two years.

In an interview in Singapore, Armstrong offered his assessment of the future of the cryptocurrency market. The Coinbase executive stated that he believes Bitcoin has formed a cyclical bottom and that a new uptrend could begin in the next 12 to 24 months.

Armstrong also said that a final agreement was nearing on the Clarity bill, which aims to regulate the cryptocurrency market in the US. The Coinbase CEO stated that regardless of whether the bill passes Congress, he expects the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Commission (CFTC) to provide clearer regulatory guidelines within one to two weeks.

Armstrong also announced that Coinbase is preparing to launch tokenized shares in the US, noting that work in this area is an important part of the company’s future plans.

According to Armstrong, there are four main trends that will support the growth of the crypto sector until 2027. These include stablecoin-based payments, tokenization of stocks and real-world assets, predictive markets, and smart agent finance.

The Coinbase CEO argued that these areas will increase mainstream adoption of the crypto ecosystem and will be among the key drivers of market growth in the coming period.
