Chainlink trades at $8.699 on July 21, up 1.32%, pushing toward its highest level since the June breakdown as a third consecutive bullish RSI divergence confirmation arrives alongside a major stablecoin infrastructure adoption.

$LINK Has Reclaimed Major EMAs And RSI Is At Its Strongest Since May

$LINK 1D Price Action (Source: TradingView)

The daily chart shows $LINK clearing the 20-day EMA at $8.170 and 50-day at $8.191, which have converged into a tight cluster just below current price and now serve as the key support zone for the recovery.

The 100-day EMA at $8.609 has been reclaimed on today’s session, with price pressing against a descending dotted resistance trendline that has capped every rally attempt since the January peak.

Meanwhile, the RSI divergence indicator at 64.86 is the highest reading since May and is still trending upward. Three separate bullish divergence signals have printed since January, each flagged on the chart.

The first two preceded meaningful recoveries. The current one is the most extended of the three and is actively following through with price confirmation rather than sitting unconfirmed as it was in prior sessions. The $7.00 support zone that held through the June lows remains the key floor below if the recovery fails.

United Stables Chose Chainlink After A Security Review Ruled Out Alternatives

United Stables, the issuer of the U stablecoin on BNB Chain, Ethereum, and TRON, announced it has adopted Chainlink as its official data oracle and cross-chain infrastructure following a security review of industry alternatives. United Stables launched in December 2025 and has since grown to over $1 billion in supply and $2.5 billion in daily volume, with listings on Binance, KuCoin, Gate, Bitget, and MEXC.

What United Stables Adopted and Why

Chainlink Product Function Status Data Feeds Price oracle feeds across 20+ lending protocols integrated with U Live now Proof of Reserve Automated cryptographic verification of U’s collateral in near real time Live now CCIP Cross-chain transfers and multi-chain liquidity aggregation for U Confirmed, future integration

United Stables CEO Athena cited the need for cryptographically proven trust in real time as the reason for choosing Chainlink over alternatives. Chainlink Labs Chief Business Officer Johann Eid described the infrastructure as built specifically for the institutional scale and volume U operates at. The adoption adds another institutional-grade stablecoin to Chainlink’s growing roster of infrastructure clients.

The partnership carries weight beyond the announcement. United Stables ran a security review that ruled out other oracle providers before choosing Chainlink. That process matters for Chainlink’s competitive position: the decision was not based on familiarity or convenience but on a structured evaluation where alternatives were explicitly considered and rejected.

Short Sellers Are Getting Squeezed As Volume Surges

$LINK Derivative Analysis (Source: Coinglass)

Volume surging 57.11% while open interest barely moved is a specific derivative signature. It means existing shorts were closing positions (adding volume) without new longs opening to replace them (which would push OI higher).

The 22:1 liquidation ratio is the clearest confirmation: this is short covering, not a leveraged long-driven rally. Spot demand plus short covering is a cleaner foundation for price than leveraged longs piling in, which creates an overhang that gets liquidated on the first pullback.

Chainlink Price Prediction: Upside and Downside Targets

  • Upside case: $LINK holds the 20 and 50-day EMA cluster at $8.170 to $8.191, clears the descending trendline near $8.70, and the United Stables integration draws further institutional attention toward the 200-day EMA at $9.843 as the RSI continues trending toward overbought territory.
  • Downside case: The descending trendline rejects price at the 100-day EMA, $LINK slips back below the 50-day at $8.191, and the recovery stalls toward the $7.50 area as the broader market pulls back ahead of the CLARITY Act deadline and August recess.
